Founded in 1996 as Knowledge Incorporated, Kudo Interactive has designed and developed both COTS (commercial, off the shelf) and custom systems for a wide variety of high-profile professional clients.

While the most important aspect of any custom development initiative is to meet the client’s needs on-budget, on-time, and on-target, KI brings a unique, new perspective to our work based on the cross-pollination effect:

KI’s experience begins with, literally, a steam-driven computer – the PLATO Computer Based Training (CBT) system developed at the University of Illinois in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s.

Among many innovative technologies at the time, PLATO computer terminals employed pneumatically-driven microfiche slide trays to display photographs integrated with computer-generated graphics and text.

OK, so maybe pneumatic technology isn't exactly steam-driven --  it was close!

Over the following decades, KI’s experience includes clients such as the Illinois State Legislature, California’s Energy Research and Development Administration (Cal-ERDA), United Airlines pilot training, Hewlett-Packard, National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Regulation, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Lockheed/Martin aerospace consulting, New York Stock Exchange, Bell-Atlantic, and several NFL Football and NCAA-D1 athletic clubs among our many and diverse clients.

Commercial products developed by the KI team include:

• The B747-400 and B737-300 Ground School CBT training, and Cockpit Procedures Trainer (CPT) sold by a joint-venture of Control Data Corporation and United Airlines.
• The Interactive Playbook, sold originally by Kudo Interactive, and now marketed by XOS Technologies to NFL and NCAA-D1 football clubs.
• The VEGA and IGA Sports Video Editing software system, sold originally by Kudo Interactive and now marketed by XOS Technologies to a wide variety of sporting organizations at professional, collegiate, and prep levels.
• The Cleveland Browns Gridiron University, Football 101 instructional CD sold by the Cleveland Browns to the general retail market.
• The netCEP Scenario Library developed and operated by KI for the New York Stock Exchange (subsequently FINRA, or Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), in the securities industry market.

Custom developed systems include:

• The “LegisSim” software system to help new legislators at the Illinois State Legislature learn about, and practice, the processes related to passing new legislation.
• Ground school and part-task training systems for pilot training at United Airlines for all equipment types and navigation subsystems.
• NASD “Cornerstone” Examiner training for new examiners responsible for “back-office” audit/examinations of securities industry firms.
• NASD “Automated Examination Modules” (AEM) Performance Support System (PSS) for NASD Examiners on-the-job exams of securities industry firms.
• Hewlett-Packard “Keep Incoming Calls Simple” (KICS) PSS to embed on-the-job instruction and user support with an incoming call center support system.
• Lockheed/Martin “National Exploitation System” PSS to embed on-the-job support to the national intelligence-gathering centralized database system.
• Securities Industry “Firm Element” Continuing Education Program as mandated to all Registered Representatives in the securities industry.
• Multimedia continuing education for traders and members of the New York Stock Exchange trading floor.
